ISAO has several committees, each with a unique purpose and benefit to our members and partners.
Awards
The ISAO Awards Committee reviews nominee submissions and recommends annual award recipients to the Board of Directors. See our list of awards here.

Certification
The Certification Committee is responsible for the ISA certification process in Ontario. This includes organizing ISA certification/qualification exams, liaising with ISA on certification issues, and making recommendations to improve the certification process.

Communications
The Communications Committee increases public awareness of arboricultural issues and ISA Ontario. The Committee develops promotional materials, e-blasts, social media posts, the ISA Ontario website, as well as the Ontario Arborist magazine.

Education
The Education Committee is responsible for delivering educational workshops (in-person and virtual). This includes organizing the Annual Conference & Trade Show. This event showcases the best in our industry, with hundreds of arborists, students, speakers, and suppliers coming together to network and learn.

Governance
The Governance Committee reviews the Articles of Continuance of Incorporation, Statement of Purpose, our By-law, and related policies governing ISA Ontario. The Committee also develops policies and procedures for the chapter.

Municipal Arborists & Urban Foresters
The MAUF Committee is an information-sharing and networking community of arborists in municipal and urban forestry. See more on MAUF here.

Ontario Tree Climbing Championship
This committee organizes the Ontario Tree Climbing Championship. This annual event showcases climbing skills, introduces equipment innovations, promotes safe practices and provides an opportunity to network with industry members and the general public. See more about the OTCC here.

Regional Plant Appraisal Committee
RPAC was created in response to the publication of the Guide for Plant Appraisal, 10th Edition. The committee consists of industry professionals who collect and organize information to create the Ontario Supplement to the Guide. See more information here.

Safety
The Safety Committee compiles and develops safety information and resources for ISAO members. The committee also recommends safety training in consultation with the Education Committee.
