Working at Heights with IHSA
This course provides workers with the basic fall prevention information they require to work safely in areas where they may be exposed to fall hazards. Participants receive the most up-to-date information with hands-on instruction from industry experts and trained adult educators who are experienced in working at heights.
This is required training for workers on construction projects who may use a method of fall protection (O. Reg. 297/13, s. 7). While a classroom-based Working at Heights course is a great starting point, site-specific training is also required. After the in-class session, the employer must train workers on the specific hazards faced and types of equipment used on the job.
IHSA will issue a temporary certificate of completion to successful participants. A permanent certificate of completion will be issued by the MLTSD. A Working at Heights – Refresher course must be taken every three years to maintain certification.
