Research

Part of ISA Ontario's mission is to be a driver of relevant, strategic research related to our industry. We strive to: support evidence-based research, assess research needs, foster research alliances, and communicate research findings through our network. ISA Ontario is proud to partner with a number of organizations on research initiatives including the Canadian Tree Fund, Vineland Research and Innovation Centre, and Brock University.

Research Partnerships

Canadian Tree Fund is a registered Canadian charity which works to promote and help fund arboriculture research in Canada. As an ISA Ontario member, a portion of your member dues go to CTF to support Canadian research projects.

Vineland Research and Innovation Centre is a not-for-profit leader in horticultural research and innovation. ISA Ontario is a member of Vineland's Greening the Landscape Research Consortium. The Consortium is a public-private collaboration investigating a number of strategic priorities including grow contracts, tree planting, training requirements, and canopy climate readiness.

Brock University: we have partnered with Brock University nursing students and with Brock's Kinesiology Department and the Holmes Lab on various projects. Keep an eye out in the Ontario Arborist for upcoming articles on research findings of topics including neck strain, inhalation injury and illness, and chainsaw vibration.
