2018 REGULATIONS: *Registrants must be ISAO members 2 WEEKS PRIOR to OTCC registration; Membership applications will NOT be accepted at the time of registration; * Climbers MUST be at the event site on Friday, Sept 14th for mandatory gear inspection, climber orientation and roll-call. Anyone not present at 4pm will be disqualified. * There are new rules regarding the OTCC and CSA approved footwear; please see below.* Registration closes at midnight, July 27th. If 10 women are not registered by this date, all remaining spots will be filled by men on the waiting list, and vice versa.
During the OTCC Competitor’s Discussion Forum held at the ISAO Annual Conference, questions were raised by competitors to the committee surrounding the requirement for competitors to wear CSA approved boots while competing. In response to these questions, the committee agreed to revisit the issue during it’s next meeting. During the committee’s April meeting the matter was raised in regard to keeping with the CSA requirement or following the International Tree Climbing Championship (ITCC) requirements for footwear. As a result, the committee has come to the decision that the requirement for footwear to be CSA approved in addition to meeting the ITCC requirements shall be discontinued. Going forward, all footwear worn by competitors on the day(s) of the event need only comply with ITCC requirements.
Registrant Cancellation Policy Statement
The Ontario Tree Climbing Championship (OTCC) represents a significant investment of time, energy and finances from all parties involved. It is out of respect for the staff, volunteers & participants of the Championship that the OTCC Committee is invoking a no-refund policy for the registration fees of competitors wishing to withdraw their names closer than twenty-one (21) days to the event. Going forward, any registered competitor who withdraws their name closer than twenty-one (21) days prior to the event (barring extenuating circumstances as decided by the Committee) or does not attend roll-call & equipment inspection at the designated time (rendering themselves as ineligible to compete), will not receive a refund of their registration fees.
