Using ISA Certification and Member Logos

See ISA's Branding Guide here. Login to your ISA Intl Account for a step-by-step branding guide here.

Note that to use the ISA Credential logos:

  • You must list your name and ISA Certification Number
  • Your credential must be current and valid
  • ISA also has requirements on how to display your logo (colour, size, etc.) as per the Branding Guide.

For ISA Ontario logos, login to your ISAO account here and access logos in the member-only section.

What are CEUs?

ISA credentials are valid for three years. To maintain your certification, you must earn a minimum number of ISA Continuing Education Units (CEUs) by the end of the 3-year period and pay a recertification fee. Or, you can retake and pass the exam. The number of CEUs required depends upon the credential you hold. For an ISA Certified Arborist: you must earn 30 CEUs over the three year period.

To view how many CEUs you currently have, login to your ISA International account here.

Pre-Approval of CEUs

If you have an upcoming program you think may be eligible for CEUs and would like us to review it, please submit using the online form here.

Please note: All CEU requests MUST be made at least 30 days in advance of the course date. If there is insufficient time to process the form, you must apply directly to the ISA for CEU post-approval.

Post-Approval of CEUs

You can earn CEUs for relevant training you have already completed by submitting a CEU Post Approval request by logging into your ISA Int'l account here. Once logged in, in My Dashboard, scroll down to the bottom to ISA Quicklinks and you'll see a link for “CEU Post-Approval Portal”.

You'll submit date and title of training; proof of attendance; description (e.g. agenda/outline of what was included in the training); and total time of the training (list the total learning time, and time for any breaks). ISA Intl will review and assign CEUs. It can take 4-6 weeks to review and approve so make sure you submit early.

See more on CEU Post Approval here.

Online CEUs Available

There are a number of virtual CEUs available – in many cases you can watch a recorded video, complete a quiz and earn a CEU.

When searching for online CEUs, make sure ISA CEUs are offered. You may be asked to register to view the webinar, and may need to take a quiz and/or submit a CEU form when the webinar ends. It can take ISA 4-6 weeks to approve CEUs.

  • Tree Stuff — scroll down the page to see “Past Webinars available” and a link to the quiz
  • Tree Fund — a few of these have CEUs available with a link to a quiz
  • Forestry Webinars — check CEU credits: if it says yes and lists ISA as one of the credits, it should be eligible
  • Urban Forestry Today — offers live credits only – you have to watch live
  • Canadian Tree Fund (CTF) – generally you need to watch live to earn the CEU
