Royal Botanical Gardens welcomes Dr. Nadina Galle as the 10th Patrick Colgan Memorial Lecturer. Dr. Galle will speak to the twin crises of public health and climate change: How the urban environment contributes to mental health challenges and chronic diseases, and how integrating nature can be a solution. In her research she has been addressing eco-anxiety and the role of nature in mitigating the effects of extreme weather, heat, and other urban stressors. She created the “Internet of Nature” movement to promote the use of innovative technologies to help urban areas become more sustainable, resilient, and biodiverse. Dr. Galle’s presentations are highly interactive, using storytelling rather than heavy technical information presentations. Her goal is to focus on people and stories that inspire hope and action.
