Town of Oakville's Licensing Requirements for Arborists

If you are an arborist or own a tree or arboricultural company, you will be required to obtain a licence starting in 2018.

At Council's direction on May 1, 2017, staff has prepared licensing regulations for arborists in Oakville.

Community Services Committee (CSC) Meeting
Monday, January 22 at 7 p.m.
Town Hall, 1225 Trafalgar Road, Bronte Room

What's happening on January 22?
We have reviewed the arborists, arboricultural, tree company and landscaping company licensing in Oakville and have a proposed approach to present to Council. Arborists and companies providing tree services (including landscapers) and the public are invited to attend the CSC meeting to learn more.

The report will be presented to Town Council on January 29, 2018 for final approval.

Please refer to the staff report to find out more information about the proposed by-law.

Advertisements were published in the Oakville Beaver both last week and, again, this upcoming week to provide information to any company that may offer Arborist services.

Information is also available online to provide details of the proposed arborist by-law. Please take a moment to review this information to see if your company offers services that are described in the classes under this by-law.

Our mission is to enhance and promote the care and benefit of trees for present and future generations in Ontario through education, research and awareness.
