Description/Summary:

Weller Tree Service has been servicing all aspects of the tree care industry since 1917.  We are looking to fill (3) Arborist/Climber/ DZ driver positions that sever our municipal, commercial and residential clientele across southern Ontario.

Qualifications:

For this position we are seeking candidates seasoned in climbing/ aerial lift and arboriculture industry procedures:

  •  ISA Certified Arborist or a post-secondary school community college certificate in an Arboriculture program and over one (1) year tree maintenance work experience in an urban environment with the progression to ISA certification;
  • Must hold and maintain a current valid and lawful Class ‘D’ driver’s license with ‘Z’ endorsement in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act, and provide a clean driver’s abstract as a condition of employment;
  • Must possess knowledge of truck/equipment inspections and be willing to maintain assigned equipment;
  •  Must be thoroughly familiar with current arboricultural practices, including but not limited to tree pruning and tree removal;
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with and demonstrate the care, maintenance and safe operation of all hand tools and mechanical equipment used in Arboriculture;
  • Must have current knowledge of tree species identification;
  • Must have current knowledge of Book 7 and traffic procedures;
  • First-aid and CPR (an asset).

The candidate will also take pride in punctuality, productivity, performance and responsibility.  There must be a willingness to learn, take direction and perform all facets of the job with professionalism and abide by our implemented policies and procedures.

Compensation will be determined based on skill-set qualifications and experience.  Successful interviewees will have an on-site assessment and in-depth valuation to determine hourly wage or salary.
